Gustave MAFFRE MAVIEL is a PhD student in social epidemiology at Sorbonne University. He’s studying the link between cannabis consumption and suicidal behaviours in the Constances cohort, under the supervision of Maria MELCHIOR and Guillaume AIRAGNES.
Gustave studied Economics & Sociology and Mathematics as a dual bachelor’s degree in Sciences Po Paris and Sorbonne University. He obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health in 2023, specializing in statistics, modelling and data science for health. He did an internship in the statistical department of the French Ministry of Health (DREES) studying inequalities in mortality according to professional sector. Then he did a second internship in the ESSMA and PsyDev teams, studying the link between financial hardship and depressive symptoms, under the supervision of Maria MELCHIOR and Cécile VUIILLERMOZ.
