Conférence internationale sur la dépression dans la musique populaire

On June 26 and 27, 2025, the Depression in Popular Music International Conference took place, co-organized by Jessica A. Holmes, Associate Professor of Musicology at the University of Copenhagen and Visiting Professor at the Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health, and Judith Van der Waerden, head of the ESSMA team.
The aim of this conference was to address the diverse creative impact of depression on popular music relative to a global rise in clinical depression among young people and its associated social inequalities. Researchers from the United States, Canada, South America, the United Kingdom, and Europe came together to reflect on these issues.

We would like to extend our thanks to the volunteers from our team for their dedication to ensuring the smooth running of the conference.

Above all, we offer our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Jessica A. Holmes for organizing a conference whose quality and originality have enriched the life of the laboratory.
