Jade PILATO obtained her PhD in psychology from Université Paris Cité in 2024, with a dissertation entitled “Young carers in middle school: identification, characteristics, and the impact of caregiving on their quality of life and academic performance.”
In September 2024, she joined the ESSMA team as a postdoctoral researcher. She is contributing to the European project ePro-Schools, which aims to promote physical activity and healthy eating habits among adolescents from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Using data from the ELFE cohort, this project has two main objectives:
1. To identify the determinants of participation in physical activity and dietary habits among these adolescents,
2. To examine to what extent low levels of physical activity and poor eating habits are associated with deteriorated mental health in these adolescents.
These findings will guide the design of a modular, evidence-based e-health intervention platform to promote physical activity, healthy eating habits, and reduce sedentary behaviors. Its implementation is currently being led by another team within the European consortium.
