Jean Sébastien CADWALLADER is a MD in family medicine with a PhD in epidemiology (Paris Saclay University), and Professor at the Sorbonne Université in 2025. He is a member of ESSMA since 2018. He works as a GP in a medical health center in Aubervilliers (northern suburb of Paris) where he is coordinating research about social inequalities in health.
He was a PhD student at INSERM Unit 1178 (headed by Bruno Falissard) where he studied eating disorders. After having received training in Antwerpen and Maastricht universities, he teaches qualitative research methods. Since 2013, he is assistant chief editor of “Exercer”, the French research journal in general practice medicine. He is also a member of the GROUMF, the qualitative association nested in the French National Society of General Practice Medicine and wrote several methodological books about qualitative research. He is now conducting qualitative studies to better understand situations of patients who experience disadvantaged socioeconomic situations.
