Paloma Vera is a PhD candidate at Sorbonne University, within Doctoral School 393.
Her dissertation focuses on access to healthcare for women in situations of vulnerability, through a multidisciplinary analysis of experiences, representations, and public policies, under the supervision of Fabienne El-Khoury and Louise Dalingwater.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in social sciences at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, she earned a master’s degree in humanities and social sciences, specializing in “Health, Medicine, and Social Issues” at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales.
Within the ESSMA team, she first completed an internship in the qualitative component of the STOP trial, which addressed smoking cessation in contexts of socioeconomic hardship, and then a second internship in the PrEVE study, in collaboration with the Ikambere association, dedicated to the sexual health needs and healthcare access of women in vulnerable situations.
