The PrEVE study assesses the impact of the involvement of a community association, IKAMBERE, on the engagement and retention of women in socio-economically precarious situations in a sexual health prevention and care program in the Île-de-France region.
This program offers information, screening (HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis by TROD) and prophylaxis measures, thus meeting the specific needs of these women. The main objective is to assess the acceptability of this sexual health pathway, proposed and carried out by IKAMBERE mediators.
The prospective, community-based study also aims to describe the socio-demographic profile (age, sex, country of birth, level of education), socio-administrative situation (residence permit, health insurance), history of gender-based violence and related care needs, medical and mental health needs, sexual health knowledge (contraception, HIV prevention, attitudes towards PrEP/TPE/treatment as prevention) and specific sexual health needs of these vulnerable women consulting a reception facility dedicated to precariousness.
