The AccessMatters project explores the social determinants influencing access to and use of the IMPROVA digital mental health promotion plateform in school settings. Through this project, our team aims to better understand which adolescents engage with this type of tool and which adolescents may require other forms of support, in order to avoid exacerbating social inequalities in mental health. This project will also provide insights to inform public policies related to mental health promotion in schools.
Co-created in 2024 with adolescents, parents, and school staff as part of the European project of the same name, the IMPROVA digital platform was evaluated through a pragmatic cluster randomized controlled trial. The AccessMatters project therefore builds on data collected from approximately 2,000 secondary school students in Germany, France, Romania, and Spain who had access to the platform during the 2024/2025 school year.
