STOP

STOP - Smoking cessation using dedicated tools according to Preference

The aim of the randomized controlled trial (RCT) is to evaluate the efficacy of an innovative, personalized intervention for smoking cessation among smokers in socio-economically precarious situations. Recruited between March 2021 and March 2024, this multicenter RCT included participants recruited from 17 health centers in 7 French cities.

Smokers were divided into a control group (standard care) and an intervention group, where they could choose, free of charge, between various nicotine substitutes (patches, gums, inhalers, tablets) and/or an electronic cigarette to support them in their quit attempt.
