Emma FEDELE holds a PhD in Public Health. After completing a Master’s degree in Criminology at the University of Montreal, where she focused on minority stress, mental health, and intimate partner violence in relationships between women, she pursued a PhD in Public Health at the Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Enjeux Sociaux (IRIS, Sorbonne Paris Nord University). Her doctoral thesis, entitled “Encounters at the Intersection of the Judicial and Healthcare Systems: Characteristics, Psycho-Socio-Legal Trajectories, and Discourses of People Seeking Care for Sexual Violence. A Multicenter Longitudinal Mixed-Methods Study,” examined these issues in depth.
She joined ESSMA as a research engineer in August 2026, where she is working on the ADA project (Adapted Physical Activity Combined with Specific Post-Cancer Support). The project aims to investigate the effects of an adapted physical activity program combined with tailored support on the quality of life of women following breast cancer.
